Topic : Houses. (2)

So. Some of you may be wondering how I've been spending my time... seeing as I am still neglecting this blog entirely too much.

Well, I've been working quite a bit... and dealing with a sudden sickness.

BUT... I have also been doing a lot of crocheting. There is a craft swap coming up next weekend at the coffee shop my sister works at. So, I have been trying to make up a few little things to bring, in hopes that people will like my stuff and perhaps want to purchase and or trade for some of said goodies.

The last few nights I've been working on these:

sorry for the crappy picture... not much light to be had in the wee hours of the morning... :(

But, yeah, houses. Pot-holders to be exact. I think they're kinda cute. But either way, they have put me in a "house/home/" kind of mood so i decided to re-visit a topic that I have done already and showcase some more awesome etsy finds featuring houses. Check it out:

Topic : Stationary

So. Stationary.

I ♥ it.

The cuter, weirder, stranger... the better.

I also love receiving mail all done up with cute stickers, envelopes and papers.

I am also slightly addicted to sending out letters to my faraway friends that are all done up with stickers, glitter, cute paper and envelopes...

Yeah.

I firmly believe I do not have enough pen-pals out there. [hint-hint, wink-wink]

Anyhow... here you go, some of the cute stationary to be had from some wondermous etsy sellers:

Topic : Salt & Pepper Shakers

New post. Yay.

So, back in the day my grandmother used to collect salt and pepper shakers. She had 2 big shelves full of them and I used to think they were so neat. Me and my sister would literally beg her to let us dust them. It was an all day event and we had to be super careful not to break any of them. I loved those things.

Alas, though, my grams decided to give her entire collection to my aunt and I no longer get to go over to my grandma's house and dust and rearrange her salt and pepper shakers. It's sad really.

BUT! Lately I have been noticing a lot of salt and pepper shaker sets popping up on websites that I visit rather frequently and decided to post them up here.

Enjoy.

*Coming Soon*

I know I keep saying this... but I have high hopes of getting back to regularly updating this thing.

I have been out of commission lately, recently diagnosed with kidney stones. After 3 trips to the ER and an out-patient surgery scheduled for the beginning of June, maybe I can get some of my free time back. I do have many plans for this blog... ideas about different types of posts and whatnot.

Hopefully I can find the motivation and time to get going on it.

I'll be back soon with *hopefully* an awesome update.

My crochet.

So, this was supposed to be posted yesterday... but I'm lazy and busy and... yeah.

I have tons of excuses, but that doesn't matter.

What matters is, I'm doing what was supposed to be done yesterday, tonight.

Anyways, I'd love it if you lovelies could give me feedback on this stuff I'm about to post...

So, here... my crochet projects.

First, the blanket I made a few weeks ago... this is one of the few finished things I have... I'm not too sure I'm happy with the outcome... the colors are awfully bright and mix-matchy... but here it is:

I tried to get a few closeup pictures of this one, but I failed miserably and these were all I had... I'm not sure you can tell in the above pictures but there is a teal ruffle all around the perimeter of the blanket...
Yeah.

Okay, moving along...

Another of my completed projects...
An ipod case/cozy/pocket thingy. I couldn't find a pattern that I liked, so I just used a single crochet and ended up sewing the sides together. The button and yarn choice were my sister's...

It ended up a little wide... but I'm ok with it.

And lastly... two blanket/projects that I am currently working on... two of my best friends have birthdays in April. I had wanted to have both these blankets completed before the actual birthdays came around but I failed miserably at that as well.

The first one is a blanket that I'm making for my friend April.

The 2nd pic is a close up of the stitches... and shows how the two strands are worked together. Yeah.

And last, a blanket I've started for my bestie Danielle:

I like this one a lot... it's fun to work on and I like the colors better than the other stuff I've done so far...

So yeah... there are a few of my projects... please let me know what you think...

I'll be back tomorrow with a normal post... ♥♥♥

Topic: Crochet. (& a little news...)

So, I have taken up a new time consuming hobby.

Crocheting.

I'm currently in the middle of making 2 blankets for friend's birthday gifts and I just finished a blanket and a ipod case for myself.

I've gone a little psycho with it...

just a little.

I plan to take some pictures as soon as the weather is nice enough and post them here for all you wonders to take a gander at... hopefully you'll let me know what you think.

I also need to get pictures posted of the corduroy purse my co-worker made for me. It's perfect. Exactly what I wanted.

So, yeah. As soon as the sun decides to make an appearance while I'm not at work, I'll have some pics to post.

Seeing as that won't be happening tonight, yet, I decided to do a post on crocheted items. There are some super awesome crocheted things available on etsy (all of which I want to force myself to learn...) Anyhow, here is just a small sample of a few of them:
